IWP names former Succession Wealth adviser CEO of Welsh hub

By Robbie Lawther, 2 Feb 21

As it rebrands the business

Independent Wealth Planners UK (IWP) has made several changes to its Welsh regional hub.

The IFA group has changed the operation’s name to Maven Wealth Management from Bartholomew Hawkins Asset Management, which was acquired by IWP in 2019.

IWP has also appointed Wes Nixon as chief executive of the hub.

The firm said: “The name change reflects the broad range of services offered by Maven Wealth Management and represents the holistic financial advice offered and the tailored service Maven clients experience.”

Maven’s support staff and advisers will continue to serve their clients from their Cardiff offices. Maven will remain independently authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

Chief executive

Nixon was formerly a financial planner at Succession Wealth before he joined as chief executive of IWP’s south west hub Kelsall Steele Investment Services in June 2020.

Under Nixon, Maven will continue to focus on its ongoing investment in technology, staffing and integration into the infrastructure of the IWP group.

David Inglesfield, IWP chief executive, said: “We are delighted by the development of one of our founding firms. Maven Wealth Management will continue to offer an incredible service to their clients and continue their success in asset management.

“Wes has already made a significant impact with IWP and we are delighted to expand his responsibilities to running two of our founding firms.”

The appointment is subject to regulatory approval.
