Jersey Finance appoints head of new Hong Kong office

27 Jun 11

Jersey Finance has named a Shanghai native, Zhaoan Li, to head up its new Hong Kong office.

Jersey Finance has named a Shanghai native, Zhaoan Li, to head up its new Hong Kong office.

Li will promote the interests of Jersey’s financial services industry to intermediaries, investors, regulators and others in Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong.

Most recently, Li was responsible for fixed income sales at BMO Capital Markets in London, where she worked with Far East-based institutional clients.

Her 13-year career in financial services has also included roles in sales, marketing and management at such companies as UBS Investment Bank, Commerzbank and Bank of Boston, in London, Hong Kong and Shanghai.

Li, who is fluent in both Mandarin and English, will be based in Hong Kong but will travel regularly to other locations in the region.

Jersey Finance chief executive Geoff Cook said Li’s appointment would help the progress of developments that would be likely to bring new business to Jersey, including the listing of Jersey companies on the Hong Kong Stock exchange.

“Having a representative on the ground is a valuable addition to our business development strategy in the region,” he added.
