Julius Baer created the new division, which will manage client funds through discretionary mandates, to emphasise and further strengthen its commitment to achieving a consistently solid investment performance for its clients.
Complementary
The new IM division will complement the existing Investment Solutions Group (ISG) division headed by Burkhard Varnholt. He and Bonzon will be co-chief investment officers.
Bonzon, who will also become a member of the executive board on 1 February 2016, will report to chief executive Boris FJ Collardi.
After a traineeship in wealth management and corporate banking at UBS, Bonzon joined Pictet in 1989. During his time at Pictet, he became an equity partner, group managing director, and chief investment officer of the Wealth Management division, responsible for more than 100 investment professionals.
