Kleinwort Hambros unveils career returners programme

By Robbie Lawther, 23 Aug 19

It is partnering with a professional network dedicated to helping women get back into fulfilling work

The private banking and wealth management arm of Societe Generale has unveiled an initiative aimed at recruiting experienced bankers and investment managers who have taken career breaks of two years or more.

The Career Returners Programme comes as the industry looks to solve the imminent talent crisis and will offer permanent positions with participants playing an active, integral role, whether advising clients or managing investments.

It will be available at Kleinwort Hambros’ offices in the UK – London, Newbury, Cambridge, Leeds and Edinburgh.

Gabrielle Branson, deputy chief executive of Kleinwort Hambros, said: “We are proud to have launched this initiative, which demonstrates our passionate belief in the importance of an inclusive and diverse workplace.

“We are focused on building high performing teams and it is therefore crucial that talented people who have had career breaks are welcomed back into the industry and given the support they may need.”

Partnerships

As part of the programme, Kleinwort Hambros is partnering with Women Returners, a professional network dedicated to helping women get back into fulfilling work.

Women Returners will provide the training, coaching and other help to re-integrating people into the workplace.

Moreover, as part of Kleinwort Hambros’ Life@Work strategy, individuals will be eligible to participate in the comprehensive range of family care benefits and networks offered by Kleinwort Hambros.

Branson added: “As well as constantly reviewing our maternity and shared parental leave policy, flexible working and talent management programmes, we are increasingly involved with business networks such as WealthiHer, which aims to empower female clients with the trust and confidence to manage their wealth.”
