Law firms merge to create business with ‘international reach’

By Robbie Lawther, 10 Jun 21

Deal ‘presents opportunities to further develop our family office and private wealth services’

Axiom Stone Solicitors and DWFM Beckman have joined forces to become Axiom DWFM.

The merger will create a law firm with international reach to further support and service their existing and expanding client base.

The combined entity has a team of almost 150 people, including 19 partners, located across several offices in London and Birmingham.

It will provide clients with access to legal advice across a wide range of sectors, including real estate, dispute resolution, insolvency, family, employment, corporate and commercial and private client and wealth.

The firm said it “will also have a strong international reach, benefitting from its membership of the International Practice Group, a global association of independent lawyers, accountants and tax advisers”.

‘Meet growing demand’

Olivia Cooper, head of Axiom DWFM family office and private wealth, said: ” I am delighted with the merger of Axiom Stone and DWFM Beckman as it further strengthens the core legal business of the firm and expands the breadth of knowledge and services we can offer to clients.

“I am looking forward to leading our award-winning family office team as the merger presents opportunities to further develop our family office and private wealth services, to meet the growing demand from clients to set up family offices and sophisticated private wealth arrangements.

“The pandemic and wider re-evaluation of global markets has led many people and businesses to seek a more coordinated approach at an earlier stage to protect family wealth, maintain personal control of assets and ensure education and development of future generations.

“Having joined the firm in 2020 to establish the family office team it has been a very busy 12 months with helping clients through a global pandemic, however I am looking forward to working with the partners and staff of the newly merged firm and pursuing the significant opportunities that we’ve identified to further build upon our strong client offering and network in a global vibrant and growing market.”
