The Canadian Model

Gramegna could not disguise his admiration for the recent EU – Canadian free trade agreement, which he thinks could offer some routes for UK – EU negotiations.
While Canada has no passporting rights it does go beyond traditional agreements by binding both sides to certain standards.

“It is probably not comprehensive enough but it does introduce routes if no other solutions are found,” he said.
