Alan Morgan-Moodie, chief executive of the Association of International Life Offices, has become one of two high profile senior executives to be appointed as an independent director to the board of Northstar Financial Services.

Alan Morgan-Moodie, chief executive of the Association of International Life Offices, has become one of two high profile senior executives to be appointed as an independent director to the board of Northstar Financial Services.

Morgan-Moodie, who based in the Isle of Man, has over forty years experience in the financial services industry. He was the founding managing director of Isle of Man-based insurance firm, Albany International Assurance (now Canada Life) and was also founder of Sun Life.

Northstar’s second appointment to the board is its former chief financial officer Will Rinehimer – who is now chief actuary and chief operating officer at Front Street Re – a Bermuda and Caymen Islands-domiciled reinsurance company.

Northstar’s president Gary Dombowsky said that both executives’ extensive industry relationships and deep knowledge of global insurance, reinsurance, capital markets and applicable regulatory matters would “directly contribute to the company’s longterm success.”

Bermuda-domiciled Northstar opened in 2005 and focuses on developing and offering both fixed and variable investment orientated insurance products for international high net worth clients. As at the end of March the company had $500m (£325m, €380m) in assets under management.

In May this year Northstar was bought by the Eden Rock Group, a UK based alternative asset manager.
