Neuberger Berman has opened an office in Argentinas capital Buenos Aires, to service its growing list of Latin America-based clients.

It is the first office the company has opened in Latin America, which said it now services clients from 25 cities in 11 countries in North America, South America, Asia, Australia and Europe.

Neuberger Berman launched in Latin America in the first quarter of 2010 and has since attracted over $700m (€524m, £452m) in mandates from approximately 15 institutional clients investing in its equities, fixed income and alternatives strategies.

Maxi Rohm, who has led Neuberger Berman’s development in Latin America, said high yield and private equity are two strategies which have attracted significant assets from clients. In the future, Rohm said he envisages those two strategies, along with global equities and emerging market stocks, will be in demand from Latin American institutional investors.
