David Parody has resigned as deputy chief executive officer of Gibraltar’s Financial Services Commission‚ weeks ahead of the departure‚ after more than a decade‚ of its CEO‚ Marcus Killick.

No reason was given for the resignation of Parody, who is on leave until his last day, 7 February. A successor has not yet been named.

In other news at the FSC, Adrian Coles, OBE, has been named to the commission, to replace Alan Whiting, who, after nine years at the FSC, has reached the end of his permitted tenure as a commission member.

Most recently Coles had been CEO of the UK's Building Societies Association, for twenty years. This position involved working with ministers, members of Parliament, regulators and the media, on behalf of the BSA and its members, the GFSC said in a statement. He stood down from that role at the end of November.

Killick’s last day at the GFSC is 14 Feb. As reported, he is to be succeeded by Samantha Barrass,  who until now has been an executive director at the Solicitors Regulation Authority  in England and Wales.
