By Tom Carnegie, 5 Feb 18
Three quarters of UK workers do not know the value of their pension fund, while a fifth of consumers aged over 55 will not trust anyone when it comes to getting financial advice, according the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (Cisi).
The research contains indicators on women’s understanding of pensions and investments and how they differ from men’s understanding, namely:
- 80% of women vs 72% of men don’t know the value of their pension.
- 19% of women vs 14% of men would trust a media personality when seeking financial advice.
- Women are significantly more likely to be concerned about investment in armaments or countries with dubious human rights.
- 30% of women vs 22% of men want to transition into retirement by reducing their working hours.
