PEOPLE MOVES: ASI, Cazenove Capital, Intelliflo

By Robbie Lawther, 9 Oct 20

Investment firm names global head, while Schroders wealth management subsidiary bolsters UK presence

Aberdeen Standard Investments (ASI)

Alex Hoctor-Duncan has been appointed global head of the firm.

He will lead the global client-facing asset management distribution function and report directly to Stephen Bird, chief executive of Standard Life Aberdeen.

Hoctor-Duncan joined the business in September 2018 as global sales director, responsible for co-ordinating global sales activity.

He previously held a number of senior retail distribution roles at Blackrock.

Cazenove Capital

The UK wealth management business of Schroders has hired five people to boost its regional presence.

Portfolio directors Simon Pearson, Richard Walker, Simeon Livesey and Mark Mace join from UBS to cover the north west.

Robert Nye joins from LGT Vestra to cover the South West.

Future plans are in place to open a new office in Manchester in Q1 2021, and to establish a local presence in Bristol, Birmingham and Leeds.

Pearson and Nye will be responsible for heading the respective teams in Manchester and Bristol.

Intelliflo

The back-office software provider for financial advisers has named Natalie Beer as head of sales.

Gareth Kerr assumes the role of head of sales proposition.

Johann Koch, who joined last year to focus on international expansion, will lead both and assume responsibility for the broader UK sales efforts.

The restructure comes as Wenda Field, who has held several senior roles within Intelliflo including chief sales officer and senior management team member, moves on to pursue new challenges.

Nutmeg

The online investment manager has hired Chris Liebetrau to lead its financial advice services.

He joins from Tilney.

The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII)

The professional body has appointed Aon UK chief executive Julie Page as president.

Page was appointed chief executive of Aon UK in 2018 and directly leads the firm’s commercial risk, health and affinity businesses.

Hawksmoor Investment Management

Gary Martin has joined the firm’s model portfolio service, where he will manage the suite of 12 model portfolios.

He joined Hawksmoor from Transact in September 2013.

Zedra

The financial services provider has appointed Wim Ritz to the newly created role of global head of funds.

He will be based at the firm’s offices in Luxembourg.

BNP Paribas Asset Management

The investment firm has made three appointments for its Asian Equities team based in Hong Kong.

Zhikai Chen has been appointed head of asian equities, effective 8 October.

He was previously head of Asia ex-Japan equities for Lombard Odier and will replace Arthur Kwong, who will leave the firm to pursue other opportunities.

Jinwen Ouyang and Roxy Wong will join the firm’s existing team across Hong Kong and Malaysia, to strengthen its Asian equities strategies.

They were both previously at Lombard Odier.

Canada Life

The insurance giant has named Jon Dunckley as proposition development manager for its home finance product range.

Dunckley joins the firm with more than 20 years’ experience in senior technical, training and consulting roles across the financial services arena.

He has recently worked with the Equity Release Council on the development of its competency framework.

The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI)

The professional body has appointed Hamish Warnock as chair of the CISI wealth management forum committee.

Warnock is senior relationship manager at Raymond James.
