PEOPLE MOVES: Aviva Investors, Axa IM, OTAP

Aviva Investors has named a new chief executive for its French operation, while Axa Investment Managers has boosted its responsible investment team. Overseas Trust and Pension has appointed a managing director, with Pimco adding an emerging markets strategist and a portfolio manager.

Aviva Investors

The global asset management business of Aviva has appointed Inés de Dinechin as chief executive of Aviva Investors France, where she will assume responsibility for leading the strategic direction of the French business.

De Dinechin has over 20 years’ experience in a variety of senior leadership and supervisory roles for the Société Générale Group. Between 2012 and 2014, she was successively chief executive and chairwoman of Lyxor Asset Management, a fully-owned subsidiary of SocGen.

She succeeds Jean-François Boulier, who served as chief executive since 2009. He will stay with the company in a consultative capacity to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities.

Axa Investment Managers

Alix Chosson has been named energy fundamentals analyst within Axa IM’s responsible investment (RI) team. She will be based in London, reporting into Matt Christensen, global head of responsible investment.

Chosson joins from Standard Life Investments where she was a responsible investment analyst from 2013 specialising in energy and technology sectors. She focused on both ESG integration and impact investing. Prior to that, she worked at Generali Investments as RI analyst. She started her career in 2010 at Amundi Asset Management as an RI and corporate governance analyst.

Overseas Trust and Pension

OTAP, the Guernsey based provider of international pensions, retirement and trust services, has appointed Robert Shipman as managing director. Shipman started on Monday and will work alongside Jane Duchemin, to drive the business forward. 

Shipman was previously managing director at Sovereign Trust in Guernsey, having been responsible for product and business development from their Gibraltar office. He has also been a director of Concept Group in Guernsey where he helped launch new pension products into new markets.

Pimco

The global investment management firm, has hired Gene Frieda as executive vice president and global strategist for the firm’s emerging markets and global strategies and Yacov Arnopolin as executive vice president and emerging markets portfolio manager.

Both Frieda, who joins from Moore Capital Management, and Arnopolin, who joins from Goldman Sachs Asset Management, will be based in Pimco’s London office.

Frieda, who will work primarily with the emerging markets team and contribute to other global, country and sector strategies, will report to Andrew Balls, managing director and chief investment officer for global fixed income.

Arnopolin, who will focus primarily on emerging markets external debt strategies, will report to Michael Gomez, managing director and head of the emerging markets portfolio management team.

Boston Multi Family Office

Alex Fray has been promoted to chief executive of Isle of Man-based Boston Multi Family Office. Fray has been chief operating officer at Boston since 2014. 

In his new role, Fray will ensure continued growth of the business and integration of its operations in the Isle of Man, Malta and Dubai. He takes over from Greg Ellison, who stepped down in May after five years at the helm of Boston.

Financial Services Consumer Panel

The UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has re-appointed Sue Lewis as chair of the Financial Services Consumer Panel for a further two and a half years, from 1 July.

Lewis works as a non-executive director and independent policy consultant. She is a consumer advocate member of the Chartered Insurance Institute’s (CII) Professional Standards Board, ensuring the consumer interest is represented in advice to the main CII Board.
