PEOPLE MOVES: Axa, LGIM, Aviva

Insurer names group chief innovation officer, while investment manager hires compliance chief

Axa

Delphine Maisonneuve has been appointed chief executive of Axa Next and group chief innovation officer.

She is currently chief executive of Axa Brazil.

Maisonneuve will report to Benoît Claveranne, chief executive of Axa international and new markets.

She replaces Guillaume Borie, who was recently appointed deputy chief executive of Axa France.

Legal & General Investment Management

The firm has hired Camille Blackburn as chief compliance officer.

She previously held the same role at Aviva Investors.

Blackburn will be responsible for overseeing the company’s global compliance operation and report to Margaret Ammon, chief risk officer.

Aviva

Amanda Blanc has been named as an independent non-executive director of the company.

She was previously chief executive at Axa UK & Ireland, and spent less than nine months as chief of Emea and global banking partnerships at Zurich Insurance Group.

Elswhere, Glyn Barker and Claudia Arney will retire from the board as independent non-executive directors on 31 December 2019.

Blanc will succeed Arney, and the appointment of a senior independent director to replace Glyn Barker will be announced in due course.

Fidelity International

The investment solutions provider has named Andrew McCaffery as global chief investment officer of asset management.

He joined Fidelity International in July 2019 as global chief investment officer of alternatives and solutions.

Prior to that, he spent eight years at Aberdeen Standard Investments in a range of senior roles.

He succeeds Bart Grenier, who has held this position since January 2018.

Grenier is returning to the US in mid-February to take up a senior position at Fidelity Investments.

Brewin Dolphin

The wealth management firm has hired Gary Le Quesne as divisional director of its Jersey office.

Prior to joining Brewin Dolphin, he was managing director at Aberdeen Private Wealth Management.

Liontrust

The fund manager has recruited Gonzalo Thomé to bolster the company’s distribution in Spain, Portugal and Andorra.

Prior to joining Liontrust, Thomé was deputy sales director and senior fund analyst at Banco Inversis in Madrid.

Before that, he was a fund of funds manager at Banco Sabadell.

Impax Asset Management

The specialist asset manager has appointed Chris Dodwell to the newly created role of head of policy and advocacy.

He joins Impax from transportation firm Ricardo, where he was director of climate change, clean growth and strategic partnerships.

Invesco

The investment management firm has appointed Ambrice Miller to its exchange-traded fund business development team in London.

Miller reports to Kate Dwyer, head of UK ETF business development.

She joins Invesco from Blackrock, where she was head of UK insurance for iShares.

Step

The global professional body has re-elected Simon Morgan as chair.

He is the director and head of private clients at Vistra Jersey.

This will be Morgan’s second term as chair, which is effective from 1 January 2020.

IQ-EQ

The private client services provider has appointed Colin Targett as managing director of its Bermuda and Cayman Islands operations.

He joins from Barclays in Jersey, where he was head of offshore investment operations.

Tilney

The UK wealth manager has hired Jacqueline Morton as a financial planner in Edinburgh.

She joins Tilney from Investec Wealth & Investment, where she worked since 2011, most recently as business development director.

Investec Wealth & Investment

Alex Barrell has joined the firm as divisional director of its newly established office in Bristol.

He was previously at Brewin Dolphin, where he was head of office for Bristol.
