PEOPLE MOVES: BlueBay AM, Ascot Lloyd, Knadel…

By Kirsten Hastings, 11 Feb 16

BlueBay Asset Management has strengthened its high yield team; while Ascot Lloyd has nabbed the former chief executive of Cofunds for a non-executive role. Knadel and the JFSC announced board appointments and Barclays named a new chief operating officer.

BlueBay Asset Management

Global fixed income manager BlueBay AM has hired Jean-Yves Guibert and Marc Kemp into their global leveraged finance team.

Based in London, Guibert has joined as a senior credit analyst in high yield and Marc Kemp has joined as institutional portfolio manager.

Guibert joins from BNP Paribas, where he was latterly head of European high yield sector specialists, covering European TMT and Cable as a sector specialisation. Kemp was previously at JPMorgan, where he was most latterly a managing director and head of European high yield sales.

Ascot Lloyd

Stuart Dyer, the former chief executive of Cofounds, has been appointed non-executive director of IFA firm Ascot Lloyd.

He began his career as an accountant at KPMG in 1974, moving to Barings as head of offshore fund administration in 1982. Before joining Cofunds, Dyer worked at Schroders, Friends Provident, and Save & Prosper.

Dyer is also chairman of Soprano Consulting, an M&A consultancy firm advising UK wealth management businesses; and a non-executive director of RPlan, which provides technology solutions to fund managers.

Knadel

Knadel has appointed Gilly Green to its UK board of directors with effect from February 2016. Green joined the firm’s UK business as wealth management practice leader in January 2011 to develop wealth manager focused consulting services.

Prior to joining Knadel, Green worked with Northern Trust as head of product and strategy for their wealth management business in EMEA, and was involved with the expansion of their family office proposition into Europe for UHNW clients.

Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC)

Debbie Prosser has been appointed deputy chairman of the JFSC. A former advocate and managing director of a local trust company, Prosser has been a member of the JFSC board of commissioners for seven years.

She succeeds John Averty who is retiring after completing his 10-year term.

Barclays Group

Paul Compton has been appointed group chief operating officer and a member of the executive committee of Barclays. He will join the firm from JP Morgan Chase in May and report directly to group chief executive Jes Staley.

Compton will be responsible for Operations & Technology, Structural Reform, Cost Transformation, major project delivery, administration, Corporate Real Estate Services, and Sourcing. He will chair the group operating committee.

Current group chief operating officer Jonathan Moulds is to leave the business to pursue other opportunities.
