PEOPLE MOVES: Citi, IQ-EQ, Canaccord Genuity WM

Bank names Hong Kong and Macau CEO, while financial services provider hires group head of insurance

Citi

Aveline San has been promoted to chief executive for Hong Kong and Macau and chief executive of Citibank in Hong Kong.

She joined the bank in 2019 as regional chief compliance officer for Asia Pacific.

San succeeds Angel Ng who was promoted to Apac head of global wealth management in April 2022.

IQ-EQ

The financial services provider has promoted Shaun Gils to global head of insurance, a newly created position based in London.

He first joined the business in 2015 in Mauritius to establish a unit servicing third-party insurance, funds, private wealth and corporate clients. He then went on to become managing director of shared services in the African country.

Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management

The wealth management firm has strengthened its senior team in Jersey.

Ryan Harrison has been promoted to head of wealth management for Jersey. He has been at the firm for 15 years and most recently was investment director.

RBC BlueBay

The European asset management subsidiary of RBC has hired Pieter Krom as director of business development for the Benelux region.

He joins from Netherlands-based investment fund and ETF data provider FinFiles, where he worked as a director.

Strabens Hall

The financial advice firm has recruited Angela Lloyd-Read as client director.

She used to work as financial planning director at 7IM Private Client. She is also a council member of the Insurance Institute of London and chair of the Personal Finance Society, London region.

Kingswood

The international wealth and investment giant has hired two financial advisers in the UK.

Jade Rose will join the London office from Byblos Bank, where she worked as a KYC officer; while Max Sullivan will be based in the Kent office and was previously a financial adviser and director of Sandringham Financial Partners.

Sullivan will also lead Kingswood’s partnership with Irwin Mitchell in the south of England.
