Julius Baer

Former head of Standard Chartered Bank Switzerland, Jeremy Parish, has joined Julius Baer’s board as a non-executive director.

He will be the third independent director to be appointed, alongside Hector Sants and Richard Wohanka.

The board will oversees the Swiss bank’s UK and Ireland business, one of the largest segments of its global operations. Parrish will take charge of the risk and audit committee on the board.

Parrish has most recently worked as a consultant for Deloitte’s restructuring and financial services practice, but has a number of years of experience leading wealth management and banking businesses in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Elian Private Wealth

Matthew Christensen has joined Elian as an associate director where he will take responsibility for business development.

His previous role at Volaw Trust saw him work in funds and Islamic finance, most recently as a director of Volaw Fund Services. He has also worked in the advisory department at KPMG Channel Islands, with a focus on transaction services, restructuring and insolvency engagements, and Deloitte in London, where he qualified as a chartered accountant.

Christensen has also spent time on secondment with Jersey Finance, where he worked on a number of high profile reviews and reports, including the Capital Economics ‘Jersey’s Value to Britain’ report and the McKinsey Jurisdictional Review, an independent review of Jersey’s financial services industry, published in 2014.
