PEOPLE MOVES: Lombard Odier, Tilney, Rathbones

Lombard Odier makes two strategic appoints to its Germany and Austria team, Tilney names a business development manager and Rathbones pulls its new equity analyst from Fidelity International.

Lombard Odier makes two strategic appoints to its Germany and Austria team, Tilney names a business development manager and Rathbones pulls its new equity analyst from Fidelity International.

Lombard Odier Investment Managers

Lombard Odier IM has made two strategic appointments for its team in Germany and Austria. Robert Schlichting has been appointed as head of institutional sales for Germany and Austria. While Frank Stefes has been promoted to head of third party distribution sales for the same areas.

Schlichting joins from Deutsche Asset Management, where he was head of institutional sales, Germany. He will report to Jonathan Clenshaw, head of institutional sales for Europe.

Stefes has been at Lombard Odier IM since 2010 and has overseen the firm’s business development in Germany and Austria for the past seven years.

Tilney

UK investment management group Tilney has added to its London office with the appointment of Andrew Tompson as business development manager with a regional focus from London to south coast.

Tompson joins from Turpin Baker Armstrong, where he was qualified as an independent financial adviser as well as taking on a role of business development.

Rathbones

Rathbones has appointed Richard Briggs as an equity analyst and Stuart Chilvers as a fixed income analyst to its research team, both will be based in London.

Briggs was previously at Fidelity international, where he was an analyst with responsibility for pan-European coverage. He will report to Sanjiv Tumkur who is head of equity research at Rathbones.

Chilvers joins the team from Brown Shipley, where he was a client associate. He will report to Bryn Jones who is head of fixed income.

Sanne

Sanne has made another move to grow its global change agenda by appointing Paul Watson as global director of change management.

Based in Sanne’s global headquarters in Jersey, Watson will be responsible for aligning and prioritising the company’s change initiatives and investments.

Previously, he was at the HSBC Group for 19 years where he spent time based in Bermuda, London, Isle of Man and the Channel Islands.

Watson will work closely with chief operating officer Eric Watson and senior managing director Philip Godley to drive the company’s global change agenda.

MAS

The Monetary Authority of Singapore has announced two appointments to its senior management team.

Ho Hern Shin, currently executive director for the insurance department, will become assistant managing director for banking and insurance. She will take over the position from Chua Kim Leng, who has requested to relinquish the role to take up an advisory position.

Additionally, Loo Siew Yee, currently executive director for the banking department, will become assistant managing director of policy, risk and surveillance. Loo will take over the position from Wong Nai Seng who will leave Mas in early 2018 to pursue other interests.

Mas has also appointed Tan Yeow Seng to its chief cyber security officer position.

Eaton Vance

Eaton Vance has appointed Richard Froio as vice president, chief compliance officer, based in Boston, US. He reports to Fredrick Marius, vice president, secretary of chief legal officer.

Prior to joining Eaton Vance, Froio was at Pimco where he was deputy chief compliance officer (adviser/funds) and chief compliance officer (distribution).

 

Selectapension

Pension and software provider Selectapension has strengthened its sales team with the appointment of Andrew Ramsbottom as head of external sales.

Ramsbottom joins from O&M Systems where he spent a total of 9 years. He started his career with NatWest Bank, becoming their youngest IFA at the age of 24 when the bank set up in the financial services sector.
