PEOPLE MOVES: Mattioli Woods, JFSC, Axa IM

Wealth firm makes c-suite promotion, as Jersey watchdog hires former financial secretary to UK Treasury

Mattioli Woods

The UK wealth manager has promoted George Houston to group compliance officer, according to his Linkedin profile.

Houston was previously technical director, and senior technical and development manager.

He joined the firm from Axa in 2012.

Jersey Financial Services Commission

The island’s regulator has named Mark Hoban as chair.

Hoban was formerly the financial secretary to the UK’s HM Treasury.

He replaces Lord John Eatwell, who has retired.

Eatwell joined the JFSC in 2010 as a commissioner and assumed the role of chair in 2014.

Axa Investment Managers

The investment firm has appointed Mark Hargraves as global head of framlington equities.

Based in London, Hargreaves will lead the global Axa IM Framlington equities business with its offices in London, Paris, Tokyo and Hong Kong.

He takes over the role from Matthew Lovatt, who has been appointed global head of client group, core.

Also, Isabelle de Gavoty has been named deputy head of Framlington equities.

IQ-EQ

The private client service provider has hired Bruno Noyon as managing director of France.

Before joining IQ-EQ, Noyon spent over 15 years as chief operating officer and senior vice president of State Street France.

Union Bancaire Privée (UBP)

The Swiss private bank named Kier Boley as chief investment officer of alternative investment solutions, as well as co-head of alternative investment solutions.

Kier will be based in London and will be leading a team of six in London and Geneva.

He previously spent 20 years at Gam, where he was head of alternative investments and managed discretionary investment mandates on behalf of institutions and ultra-high net worth family offices.

ITI Capital

The global financial services provider for institutional investors and private clients has named Leonardo Brummas Carvalho as group co-chief executive and chief executive of wealth management.

He has over 20 years of experience in financial services and was previously chief executive and country manager for Credit Suisse Panama.

Carvalho was most recently head of the emerging Europe team for Credit Suisse in London.

Alex Picot Trust

The Jersey-based firm has promoted Solange Rebours and Sarah McBrearty to associate director.

Rebours joined the team at Alex Picot Trust in 2002 and for the past three years has held a dual role of operations manager and senior trust officer.

McBrearty has been promoted from the role of senior trust officer, after she joined the firm in 2008.
