PEOPLE MOVES: Neuberger, Columbia Threadneedle, Source…

By Kirsten Hastings, 18 Feb 16

Neuberger Berman announced a senior EMEA appointment, as Columbia Threadneedle reported a departure. ETF provider Source made 17 promotions; while Davy Asset Management added two new faces.

Neuberger Berman

David Rowe has been appointed to the role of head of marketing – EMEA at Neuberger Berman, effective immediately.

He is responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategy to support Neuberger Berman’s growing EMEA business across all client channels, based in London.

Rowe has over 17 years’ experience in the asset management industry. He joins from Pimco where he was head of marketing and communications EMEA since 2012 and additionally responsible for APAC since 2014.

Previously, he held several senior marketing roles at Threadneedle (now Columbia Threadneedle) including head of wholesale & institutional marketing and latterly head of marketing.

Columbia Threadneedle

Martin Harvey, lead manager on the Threadneedle European Bond fund, has left Columbia Threadneedle after 10 years. Harvey was also co-manager of the Global Bond fund and the Global Opportunities Bond fund.

The group said it will be looking to hire a new manager as a result of his departure.

Source

European ETF provider Source has promoted Kate Dwyer to the role of executive director of its UK coverage team. Dwyer joined Source in 2013 and has been primarily focused on private banks and family offices.

Her promotion is one of 17 the company has announced across Europe, which include Sascha Specketer’s promotion to managing director of Source’s coverage team in Germany; and Paul Ridley’s promotion to executive director of strategy in the UK.

Eight members of staff across Europe were promoted to director positions; while six were promoted to the role of associate.

Davy Asset Management

The international asset management arm of Davy Group has appointed Phil Jefferson as a company director. Jeremy Humphries also joins Davy Asset Management as fund manager from Schroders in London.

These appointments are the latest in a series of senior-level engagements in the UK, including former Threadneedle sales director Doug Gordon and T Rowe Price fund manager Jonty Starbuck.

Jefferson is a principal at Jconsult (Europe) and has held a number of senior roles as head of distribution at Fidelity Investments, First State, Henderson, and JPMorgan Asset Management.

Humphries joins as fund manager in the global equity investment team having previously worked in the Schroders’ quantitative equity products team in London and in Pioneer Investments’ global quantitative research team.

RWC Partners

Gary Tuffield is joining RWC to develop and grow the company’s UK Wholesale market business. Tuffield was previously co-head of BNY Mellon’s UK Intermediary Distribution having spent 13 years at the company.

During that time he managed relationships throughout the UK, across both retail and wholesale channels.

M&G Investments

Huw Jones is to retire as head of corporate finance at M&G Investments, following a career in corporate governance that has spanned four decards.

His successor is Rupert Krefting, who will join in March from Numis Securities, where he is a director in its corporate broking and advisory business. Prior to his move to Numis in 2008, Krefting held senior roles at Investec and Panmure Gordon. He is also a Chartered Accountant.

Invesco Income Growth Trust

The Invesco board has named Mark Dampier as a non-executive director of the company. His appointment will be effective from 1 March.

Dampier has over 30 years’ experience in financial services and is currently head of investment research at Hargreaves Lansdown. He is also a director of Hargreaves Lansdown Asset Management and a member of the company’s executive management committee.
