PEOPLE MOVES: Redington, Aegon UK, Scottish Friendly

CEO leaves investment consultancy firm, as product provider names CFO

Redington

After eight years at the firm and five at helm of the investment consultancy firm, Mitesh Sheth will step down as chief executive at the end of 2021.

While the search for a successor is underway, deputy chief executive Zoe Taylor will become interim chief executive.

Aegon UK

Jim Ewing has been promoted to chief financial officer at Aegon UK, subject to regulatory approval.

He has been at the firm for a decade, and served as chief risk officer since 2014.

Ewing succeeds Stephen McGee, who had been in the role since 2016.

Scottish Friendly

Stephen McGee has become chief executive at the mutual life insurer.

He was previously at Aegon UK, where he served as chief financial officer for five years.

LGT Capital Partners

The global specialist alternative investment firm named Wael El Burji as managing director and senior executive officer.

He will be responsible for the firm’s presence and expansion in the Middle East.

El Burji was previously at Amundi Asset Management where he served as director overseeing the relationship with institutional investors and the third-party distribution business in the region.

Allfunds

The wealthtech company’s group chief financial officer has stepped down to take up an opportunity with a venture outside of financial services.

Amaury Dauge has served in the role for a year and will remain at the firm through early Q2 2022 to support an orderly transition.

Allianz

Chief operations officer Stephanie Smith is leaving the insurer, effective from 31 December 2021.

She joined the firm in 2009 as a senior IT manager and has since held senior roles including director of operations for the retail division, and chief operations officer in 2016.

First Sentier Investors

The global investment manager has recruited David Allen as global head of investment management.

He joins from AMP Capital, where he was most recently global chief investment officer for equities, based in London.

Janus Henderson

Andrew Hendry has taken on the role of head of distribution in Asia (ex Japan) at the asset manager.

He will be based in Singapore.

Hendry worked at Abrdn, where he held a similar role.

Deutsche Bank Wealth Management

The wealth arm of the German bank has bolstered its south-east Asia team with three hires.

Felicia Tan has been hired as a director and team leader, Edmund Tee as vice president, and Dita Darmawan as director, all based in Singapore.

Tan and Tee join from BNP Paribas Wealth Management, Darmawan from UBS.
