Michael Yong Haron’s full title will be managing director and head of RBC wealth management in North Asia.
Haron has nearly 20 years of industry experience. He was previously based in Hong Kong as an executive director at holding company Credit Suisse and has also been a member of the CFA Institute.
He will report to Barend Janssens, head of RBC emerging markets.
RBC hopes that Haron’s appointment will strengthen its regional team.
In January RBC appointed Tim Houghton as head of business development for the British Isles and Caribbean.
Houghton has responsibility for leading RBC’s consolidated business development and representing the company’s products and solutions.
