Salamanca appoints new head of trust team

By International Adviser, 11 Dec 14

Salamanca Group has appointed a new head for its Geneva-based trust and fiduciary office to strengthen the team during turbulence in the Swiss trust industry.

Salamanca Group has appointed a new head for its Geneva-based trust and fiduciary office to strengthen the team during turbulence in the Swiss trust industry.

Kati Watson will take on the role as senior trust manager and team head at the UK-headquartered merchant banking firm.

Watson previously managed personal tax matters for high net-worth individuals within UK accounting firms, before moving to Geneva where she took on senior roles for independent trust companies.

She has experience working for clients who are UK resident and non-domiciled, and has managed multi-jurisdictional structures for international clients.

Head of trust and fiduciary, Xavier Isaac, said: “The trust industry has been experiencing a period of turbulence and change recently, particularly in Switzerland.

“It is therefore pleasing to be able to attract such high calibre to Salamanca Group.

“Watson brings with her a wealth of industry experience that will ensure our business continues to go from strength to strength.”

The company has also appointed three new employees for its trust and fiduciary business in its Jersey office.

In September this year, Salamanca Group launched a private office division to serve wealthy clients from various jurisdictions around the world.
