Sanlam’s Nell explains how AI runs its Multi-Asset offering

By Will Grahame-Clarke, 19 Apr 18

The artificial intelligence behind its latest multi-asset offering is “extremely simple”, according to Gideon Nell.

The global head of business development concedes Sanlam’s use of AI maybe a leap for some but he points out that so much of people’s lives benefit from AI – on planes, mobile phones and online shopping – without knowing it.

The AI in the Dublin-domiciled Sanlam Managed Risk Ucits Fund re-balances weekly to give advisers “next gen, all rounder” performance.

Nell argues the machine eliminates human emotion from the investment process and autonomously learns and adapts to changing markets.
