schroders adds polish share class

24 Nov 11

Schroders has added a Polish Zloty hedged share class to its Schroder ISF Global Resources Equity Fund, citing Polish investors’ interest in the sector.

Schroders has added a Polish Zloty hedged share class to its Schroder ISF Global Resources Equity Fund, citing Polish investors' interest in the sector.

The fund, which is already available in Euro hedged and dollar share classes –in Poland, will now offer Polish banks, advisers, insurance companies and institutional investors access to a Zloty share class.

Schroders said the new share class follows four successful Polish Zloty share class launches, for the Schroder ISF Emerging Markets Debt Absolute Return, Schroder ISF Asian Total Return, Schroder ISF Global Convertible Bond and STS Global Diversified Growth Fund.

Sam Catalano, manager of Schroder ISF Global Resources Equity, said: “The medium and long-term fundamentals of resources equities remain very strong driven by emerging market demand and a tight supply of commodities.

“We are more cautious in the short term due to the impact of tightening policies in China taking hold, considerable economic and political uncertainty in Europe, continued unrest in the Middle East and the stalled recovery in developed markets. However, valuations are currently low and this new share class will enable Polish investors to benefit from this attractive investment opportunity.”
