Singapore police force investigates 329 scammers

Victims have lost around £5.5m

Some 236 men and 93 women in Singapore are assisting police with their investigations into scams, following a Singapore police operation between 18 and 31 August.

The police said that the men and women are believed to be involved in more than 1,300 scams, including e-commerce, internet ‘love’, property rental, investment, jobs and government officials impersonation scams.

Victims have reportedly lost over S$9.4m (£5.5m, $6.9m, €6.4m)

The scammers are being investigated for the alleged offences of cheating, money laundering or providing payment services without a licence.
