South Africa budget targets high earners with top rate hike

South Africa finance minister Pravin Gordhan has announced a new top tax bracket of 45% in his 2017 Budget.

Non-resident property sellers

Due to the increase in CGT and personal tax rate, the Treasury also announced changes to the withholding tax to be applied to non-resident sellers of immovable property, which will be as follows:

Non-resident individual    7.5%

Non-resident corporate    10%

Non-resident trust             15%
