Standard Bank’s Isle of Man unit has appointed Sanshia Tumblety to the role of head of banking propositions in its International Personal Banking division.

The bank said Tumblety has extensive marketing experience and strategic planning skills, and was promoted from her position as product manager, deposits and banking at Standard Bank in the Isle of Man.

”Her experience in marketing financial services has been built up over many years in the offshore and expatriate environment and I’m confident she will be able to lead our Products division forward,” said Chris Till, chief executive at Standard Bank, Isle of Man.

Prior to working for Standard Bank in the Isle of Man, Tumblety was with Britannia International for 11 years as marketing manager and then business improvement manager in a project management capacity.

She started her career with advertising and promotions agencies in London, working with clients such as Evian, Unilever, RAC and Abbey National.

“With Standard Bank’s clear long term focus on Africa, I will be concentrating on building closer relationships between our team here, and the rest of the group,” Tumblety said.

Standard Bank Group is the largest African bank by assets and earnings and is 20.1% owned by the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), the world’s largest bank. It operates in 20 countries on the African continent, including South Africa.
