Standard Chartered, the London-based, Asia-focused banking group, has restructured its capital markets and syndications operations in the greater Gulf area, giving new responsibilities and expanded titles to Steve Perry and Salman Ansari.

Perry, who is currently the bank’s global head of Project, Aircraft and Shipping Finance Syndications, is being given the added title and responsibilities of head of capital markets for the Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan.

In his newly-expanded role, Perry is responsible for overseeing the bank’s regional loans syndications, debt capital markets, sovereigns and securitisation businesses, which, Standard Chartered said in a statement announcing the change, "form an important link to the bank’s client relationship-focused banking business in the region".

Perry is also responsible for structured finance transactions for Standard Chartered in the project finance, shipping and aircraft financing sectors globally.

Perry came to Standard Chartered in 2004, and has more than 13 years of experience in syndicating structured transactions in the international syndicated loans market.

Salman Ansari, who has been with Standard Chartered since 2009, is taking on the added responsibilities of regional head of debt capital markets for the Middle East and North Africa and Pakistan.

In this role he will be responsible for driving the regional debt capital markets business as well as managing the bank’s sovereign and supranational franchise, which, it notes, "has grown considerably over the last two years".

Both Perry and Ansari will be based at Standard Chartered’s regional headquarters in the Dubai International Financial Centre.
