threadneedle plans nordic expansion

16 Jan 12

UK-based asset manager, Threadneedle Investments, has announced plans to open an office in the Swedish capital, Stockholm.

UK-based asset manager, Threadneedle Investments, has announced plans to open an office in the Swedish capital, Stockholm.

The move follows the registration of Threadneedle’s Sicav funds with the Swedish regulator, Finansinspektionen, last year, and the completion of a distribution agreement with Avanza Bank in October.

Threadneedle said the new Stockholm office will serve its existing institutional clients in the region and will allow it to “develop new relationships and expand its client base in Sweden”. It added that the opening “reflects Threadneedle’s commitment to continue its international development and the encouraging demand for its funds in the Nordics”.

Campbell Fleming, Threadneedle’s Head of Distribution further added that the company’s funds had received “strong interest” from institutional clients in Finland, Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
