US in the news: Robertson Stephens WM names CEO

A round-up of people moves and M&A deals across North America

People moves

Robertson Stephens Wealth Management

The wealth firm has appointed Raj Bhattacharyya as chief executive.

Bhattacharyya joined the board in January, and previously spent 17 years at Deutsche Bank.

He succeeds Stuart Katz, who will continue as the firm’s chief investment officer.

Keel Point

The wealth management firm and multi-family office has named Clint Ward as chief compliance officer.

Ward was previously former chief compliance officer at CIBC Private Wealth Management.

First Republic Bank

The private bank and wealth management company has hired Brian Addington as managing director and wealth manager.

Before joining First Republic, he was a senior vice president at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management.

Lear Investment Management

The Dallas-based investment adviser has hired Jim Scanlon as head of relationship management.

Scanlon joins Lear from Gamco Investors, where he served most recently as head of distribution overseeing sales and marketing.

UBS Wealth Management USA

The firm has promoted John Grandizio to assistant market head of UBS’s greater Florida market.

Before joining UBS in May 2020, he was a private bank client adviser at JP Morgan.

Rockefeller Capital Management

The financial advisory firm has hired the Moore Group to its private wealth management arm.

Led by Marie Moore, managing director and private wealth adviser, the team joins Rockefeller in its Dallas office.

In addition to Moore, the team includes Shawn Moore, senior vice president and private wealth adviser, Robin Barry, associate vice president and client associate, Emily Lumley, senior associate and client associate, and Cassidy Steck, associate and client associate.

The Moore Group joins Rockefeller from Morgan Stanley.

Alex Brown

The subsidiary of Raymond James has hired financial advisers Steve Kanteliotis, Stephen Gitter and Frank Brodsky in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Kanteliotis, Gitter and Brodsky join from Wells Fargo.

The team is joined by practice business manager Michael Gambol and investment portfolio associate Frederick Daniels and operates as Kanteliotis Wealth Management.

Round Table Wealth Management

The global wealth and investment management firm has named Anthony Rosetti as director and wealth adviser.

He has over 10 years’ experience in the financial services industry.

M&A

The Mather Group (TMG)

The family- and employee-owned wealth management firm has acquired PartnersInWealth, a Houston-based company.

This deal marks TMG’s seventh acquisition in the last 18 months, and fourth of 2020.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Strategic news

Oppenheimer & Co

The banking group has agreed a strategic alliance with global fintech firm, InvestCloud.

The partnership will accelerate Oppenheimer’s buildout of its digital experience platform for the firm’s financial advisers and other professionals, as well as their clients.

Central to this strategic alliance is the creation of a digital adviser-client web-based portal for Oppenheimer’s private client division.

The digital portal, expected to launch in the first half of next year, will be designed, built, and powered by InvestCloud and will integrate with Oppenheimer’s existing technology infrastructure.
