Wilfed Sit swaps Mirae for new role at Barings

Fund managers are taking advantage of undervalued earnings multiples in the UK consumer sectors.

He takes up his role on 30 May and will be based in the company’s Hong Kong office.
At Mirae Asset Global Investments he was head of Asia Pacific investment strategy and regional chief investment officer – Asia Pacific, before becoming head of emerging markets investment strategy.

This is a return to Barings for Sit as he was a director and then head of Asian equities between 2004 and 2007. He started his investment management career in 1994 and through his career he has managed Asian and China funds, with Invesco and Aetna in Hong Kong as well as Barings and Mirae.

In his new role, he will lead the Hong Kong-based equity team working with Colin Ng, head of Asian equities, and Agnes Deng, head of Hong Kong China equities  and reports to Tim Scholefield, head of equities.
