Based in the Isle of Man, Richards will lead a team of investment managers and assistants to continue the firm’s development of its offshore private client business and will report to Mike Balfour, chief executive of Thomas Miller Investment.
Richards joins the company from Maitland where he was senior investment manager within the investment services business on the Isle of Man. He started his career as a portfolio manager with the independent offshore firm Ramsey Crookal, before working as an investment manager with Quilter, part of Morgan Stanley.
In addition to Richard’s appointment, Andrew Buchanan, who joined the offshore investment team in January, has been appointed to the new position of senior associate private investment management (Channel Islands), a key growth area for TMI.
