hermes prepares for real estate debt push

21 Jun 13

Marcus Palmer has joined Hermes Real Estate Investment Management (HREIM) where he will head up the real estate debt programme.

He joins the firm from Chalkhill Partners where he was responsible for the build out and development of the firm’s real estate platform. Prior to this he has held positions at Anglo Irish Bank, RBS and Barclays Capital.

The role is a new one, created as part of the firm’s drive into the real estate debt space as it seeks to take advantage of the opportunities available in the space.

The firm currently has around £5.8bn in real estate assets under management.

Earlier in the week Axa Investment Managers announced it had appointed its commercial real estate debt team to manage a new infrastructure debt mandate.
