bny mellon adds to german management team

BNY Mellon has bolstered its German management team with one hire and the appointment of three individuals to senior positions.

Thomas Brand has been appointed head of investment services for BNY Mellon in Germany responsible for relationship management and business development in Germany, Switzerland and Central and South Eastern Europe.

Jürgen Frank becomes chairman of the supervisory board of BNY Mellon subsidiary, KAG. Frank is also branch manager and spokesman for the Frankfurt branch of The Bank of New York Mellon SA/NV, and as head of integration for BNY’s asset servicing business in Germany.

New hire Laura Ahto is due to join BNY Mellon in October 2012 as head of asset servicing operations and service delivery in Frankfurt. Subject to regulatory approvals, she will be appointed branch manager of The Bank of New York Mellon SA/NV Branch Management. Ahto joins from Barings Asset Management in London, where she was deputy COO, head of operations and technology.

Christian Altmeyer has been appointed as a branch manager of The Bank of New York Mellon SA/NV branch management and will assume responsibility for legal, regulatory affairs, internal audit and risk & compliance for the region.

Meanwhile, Michelle Grundmann, managing director, BNY Mellon Asset Servicing will be “transitioning her current responsibilities” in the coming weeks prior to leaving the company to take up a new role in the industry.
