Bond Vigilante Riddell departs M&G

3 Jul 15

Mike Riddell, manager of three M&G bond funds, has left the firm after 12 years.

Mike Riddell, manager of three M&G bond funds, has left the firm after 12 years.

Part of the so-called Bond Vigilantes team, he joined M&G in 2003.

He became manager of £702m Gilt & Fixed Interest Income, £376m Index Linked Bond and £34m Global Government Bond funds in 2010.

It is unknown at this time what Riddell’s plans are. A spokesperson from M&G said: “I can confirm that Mike Riddell is leaving M&G after 12 years. Mike’s responsibilities will be shared by other members of M&G’s enlarged retail fixed interest team.”

Gilt & Fixed Interest Income Fund will now be managed by Matthew Russell, with Jim Leaviss remaining as his deputy.

Ben Lord is to manage Index Linked Bond Fund. Claudia Calich will take over Global Government Bond Fund while also taking on the deputy role for Leaviss’ £1.4bn Global Macro Bond Fund.
