By Kristen McGachey, 16 Oct 17

Kames Capital is heading out west to the US, offering American investors access to two global equity strategies.

Following its recent push into continental Europe, the UK investment manager is preparing to enter the US market for the first time after registering with the Securities Exchange Commission.

US investors will initially be able to access the Kames Global Equity Income strategy and Kames Global Sustainable Equity strategy.

But the investment manager hinted that it is thinking of releasing a number of other strategies which it has identified as having strong demand from investors in the US market.

In addition to expanding its geographic footprint, the US expansion is also designed to help Aegon Asset Management, the global investment firm and Kames affiliate, market its products, services and strategies to a wider audience.

Martin Davis, Kames Capital’s chief executive, said: “Our entry into the US market is another significant milestone in the development of Kames Capital as we look to broaden and deepen the distribution of some of our best products and strategies across new markets.

“The agreement for our sister affiliated company to distribute our strategies in the US is also a positive step as Kames and AAM look to bring their successful capabilities to our customers wherever they are located.”
