Investec Asset Management said international interest for its range of multi-asset portfolios has driven it to strengthen its team with three new hires.

Joining the company’s global multi-asset team, which has assets under management of around $18bn in a number of strategies, are Atul Shinh as an investment specialist, Edmund Ng as portfolio manager and Michael Streatfield who will work on portfolio construction and quantitative analysis.

Shinh joins Investec from Mercer where he led manager research coverage for diversified growth strategies globally. Prior to this he was part of Axa’s multi-manager team after a role at the Financial Services Authority.

Prior to joining Investec Asset Management, Ng managed long-only EAFE and long/short European equity strategies at TT International, following a role at Morgan Stanley as a sell-side equity strategist.

Meanwhile, Streatfield held roles at Towers Watson and Old Mutual Asset Management as a research actuary, and was head of quantitative research at Fleming Martin Asset Management.

Michael Spinks, co-head of multi-asset and portfolio manager, Investec Diversified Growth Strategy said: “We are seeing strong demand across our outcome orientated Multi Asset range and the new team members ensure that we support this growth and continue to deliver the performance that our clients expect.
