How UK advisers are navigating the turmoil

By Kirsten Hastings, 28 Oct 19

FundsNetwork sales data reveals domestic-focused funds are among top 10 bestsellers

Advisers are continuing to take a diversified approach to mitigate the risks for their clients, according to Paul Richards, head of sales at Fidelity International’s adviser platform, FundsNetwork.

In September, the top spot was retained by the ‘Global’ sector, followed by ‘Mixed Investments 40-85% Shares’ and ‘Volatility Managed’.

The platform attributed this to a preference for portfolio diversification.

Passives and the UK

Vanguard’s LifeStrategy 60% Equity Fund was the leading fund for adviser sales overall, as well as the bestselling Isa and pension fund, reflecting a continued demand for passive funds.

“It is also interesting to see that UK-focused funds are falling into the top 10 bestselling funds for both pensions and Isas – indicating that despite the ongoing political uncertainty, advisers are still finding value in the UK market,” Richards added.
