P1 Platform launches service for advisers to accelerate report writing and client disclosures

By Mark Battersby, 21 Aug 24

The tool generates a detailed investment proposal that showcases how a client’s investment would be structured

P1 Investment Services has launched the Investment Proposal Generator for financial advisers and investment managers using the P1 Platform.

The tool is part of P1 Platform’s ongoing commitment to leveraging technology that enhances the adviser-client relationship, making the advisory process more efficient and effective.

The Investment Proposal Generator allows advisers to, almost instantaneously, create bespoke, comprehensive documents tailored to each client as a pre-advice document or to be included within a suitability report.

It can also be used to identify an appropriate portfolio for a particular client by narrowing down the model portfolios available. Users can filter options for clients by selecting certain requirements, including risk level, objective and ethical or sustainable preferences.

By pulling data from Discretionary Fund Managers (DFMs) operating model portfolios on the P1 Platform, the tool generates a detailed investment proposal that showcases how a client’s investment would be structured. This includes asset allocation, sector allocation and top holdings.

It also provides a forecast of potential returns, a breakdown of associated charges and details about the DFM and the objective of the portfolio selected, including any ethical and sustainability elements.

Key features of the Investment Proposal Generator include:
• Customised: Tailored to individual client needs, incorporating their risk level, investment amount, and real-time data from DFMs.
• Portfolio Visualisation: Displays asset allocation, sector allocation, top holdings, performance and a full portfolio breakdown, providing a clear picture of the proposed portfolio.
• Regulatory disclosures and costs: Offers clients insights into potential returns and associated costs, ensuring transparency and informed decision-making.

James Priday, CEO of P1 Investment Services, said: “The norm for our industry is for advisers to include portfolio factsheets they’ve downloaded from a provider’s website within reports or compile portfolio information themselves. Our new tool offers a significant step forward.

“The Investment Proposal Generator allows advisers to present a personalised investment strategy generated in less than a minute, making it easier for clients to understand the investment manager and the portfolio being recommended.

“This not only enhances client engagement but also significantly improves adviser efficiency. Uniquely, even though the tool is available through the P1 Platform, it is platform agnostic and can be used with any DFM portfolios available on the P1 Platform, as long as the investment manager has provided the information required.”
