PEOPLE MOVES: Schroders, Progeny, Ocorian

Co-heads of intermediary named at investment manager, while wealth firm opens tax service

Schroders

The global investment manager has named two co-heads to lead its UK intermediary business.

Sam Gold, current head of intermediary business development in London, and Doug Abbott, country head for South Africa, will take on the roles.

They succeed previous head of the business Phil Middleton who is relocating to the US to lead the institutional division for North America.

The changes will be effective at the end of the first quarter of 2020 after a transitional period.

Progeny

As the UK-based financial advisory firm rolls out a range of tax services within its advisory offering, it has recruited two people to lead the division.

Tony Maleham and Adele Swaine will both become directors of Progeny Tax.

They join from Mazars where they served as a tax partner and private client senior tax manager, respectively.

Ocorian

Maurice Okolo joins the global provider of trust, administration and fiduciary services as a business development director focusing on West Africa.

He will be based in Lagos, Nigeria and will be responsible for running the newly-opened representative office for the region.

Okolo was previously a vice president, head of investment solutions at Elixir Asset Management, based in Lagos, for five years.

JTC

The Jersey-headquartered provider of funds and private wealth services has named Erika Schraner as an independent non-executive director, effective immediately.

Previously, she was a partner, UK M&A integration leader & TMT M&A advisory leader at PwC in London until 2018.

She currently holds another non-executive director position with Amino Technologies in Cambridge where she also serves as chair of the audit committee and as a member of the nomination committee.

Fidelity International

Andy McNulty has been appointed as sales director for the firm’s wealth management team, based in London.

He joins from JP Morgan Asset Management where he spent over 10 years as a regional sales manager and client adviser for the North of England, focusing on discretionary fund managers.

McNulty starts with immediate effect and will be responsible for Fidelity’s wealth clients in Scotland, Northern Ireland and the North of England.
