Bank names global head of products and investments, wealth firm hires acquisition development officer

HSBC Private Banking

The banking giant has hired Lavanya Chari as global head of products, investments and collaboration.

Chari will join from Deutsche Bank and be based in Hong Kong, after a period of time working in Singapore.

Mattioli Woods

The wealth manager has hired Mark Stokes as business and acquisition development officer.

Prior to joining Mattioli Woods, Stokes spent three years with Succession Wealth; initially as proposition and marketing director before becoming group public relations and communications director in 2019.

Schroders Personal Wealth

The Schroders and Lloyds financial advice joint venture has expanded its investment team with the hires of Peter Brunt as head of manager research and Jennifer Christian as an investment specialist.

Prior to joining Schroders Personal Wealth, Brunt spent five years at Morningstar, most recently as an associate director.

Christian held roles at Quilter Cheviot, Deutsche Bank and Rensburg Sheppards.

Artemis Investment Management

Adam Gent has joined the firm as head of intermediated business.

He will join Artemis at the beginning of August from Allianz Global Investors, where he has been managing director and head of northern European retail and wholesale distribution.

Kames Capital

The head of distribution for UK and Ireland, Mark Savage, has left the company after 16 years.

Savage has occupied several sales roles since joining the firm in 2003 as a business development manager.

He became head of UK distribution in October 2018.

EdenTree Investment Management

The investment firm has hired Phil Davey in its wholesale and retail distribution team.

He is responsible for developing EdenTree’s proposition in the Channel Islands.

Davey has previously worked at Royal London Asset Management, JP Morgan Asset Management, Columbia Threadneedle and Amundi.

Tilney

The UK wealth management group Tilney has recruited Simon Andrews as director for business development in sport, to grow its sports professional client base.

Andrews is based in the north west, where Tilney has a strong presence with offices in Manchester, Liverpool and Knutsford.

He is a former professional footballer who played for Manchester United and Wigan Athletic, between 1985 and 1991, before transitioning into a second career in financial services.

Andrews began his 28-year career in financial services as an adviser and over the last two decades as a business acquisition executive at St James’s Place.

MFS Investment Management

The investment firm has bolstered its business in Europe with the expansion of its regional sales team in Milan.

As part of the Milan team’s buildout, Luigi Burdo has recently been appointed sales director.

Burdo joins MFS from M&G, where he spent five years working as a business development manager covering financial advisory networks and banks in the central and southern regions of Italy.

The team will be further supported by Fillipo Gaffuri and Francesca Covre.

Gaffuri joined MFS as a sales representative for the Italian market after spending four years at Mediobanca SGR.

Covre has been promoted to a senior sales representative and has relocated to Milan from the firm’s London office.

Intertrust

The solutions provider has named Francis Parisis as global head of business development for its private wealth services.

He was most recently at IQ-EQ, working across fund and private wealth management.

The Edinburgh-based private bank and wealth manager has named Andy Hall as its financial planning director.

He joins from Barclays Wealth Management, where he was director of wealth planning for Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Frenkel Topping

The specialist independent financial adviser and wealth manager has named Christopher Mills as a non-executive director of the company.

Mills founded Harwood Capital Management in 2011, a successor to its former parent company JO Hambro Capital Management.

He was also appointed as a non-executive director of Harwood Wealth in 2016, the financial planning and discretionary wealth management firm business which he helped to build.

Druces

The law firm has hired Estelle Tague to join its private client team as senior counsel.

Tague joins from law firm Child & Child, where she was head of international private wealth.

Gibraltar Financial Services Commission

The regulator has appointed Stephen Haddrill and Paul Smee to its board.

They will succeed Adrian Coles and Jonathan Spencer.

Haddrill was the chief executive of the UK Financial Reporting Council for 10 years before retiring from the position in October 2019.
