Blevins Franks adviser numbers jump 12% as it rolls out expat referral service

By Laura Purkess, 9 Sep 26

James Roberts, chief executive of Blevins Franks, said the firm had seen seven new starters join this year

Blevins Franks has seen its adviser numbers grow by 12% this year as it expands its new referral service for UK advisers to offer clients relocating to the EU ongoing support.

Speaking to International Adviser, James Roberts, chief executive of Blevins Franks, said the firm had seen seven new starters join this year, representing a 12% growth in adviser numbers, and that the firm has “a strong pipeline” of advisers looking to join.

“We are expanding adviser numbers for two reasons. Firstly, the continued volume of enquiries from people leaving the UK, and secondly, due to number of UK nationals who have moved to EU previously but are only now orientating their tax and investment affairs to the local jurisdiction that is there new reality,” he said.

“We are seeing two types of advisers join us. First, we are seeing younger advisers looking for a career outside the UK see Europe as a dynamic and enjoyable place to build a career. Due to our fifty year presence we have clients needing service, whereas other international options often see advisers need to start from scratch.

“In addition, we are seeing older advisers move to countries they may perhaps retire to in five or ten years time and they enjoy establishing themselves in the thriving British communities first,” he said.

Roberts added that the firm is looking to launch an adviser academy at the beginning of next year to help train up new advisers.
