White Oak Capital Management names CEO

He joins from online stock trading platform Motilal Oswal

The boutique investment management firm has hired Aashish Somaiyaa as chief executive.

He brings with him 20 years of experience in the asset management industry, having spent the past seven years as chief executive and managing director at Motilal Oswal.

Before that, Somaiyaa was head of retail business as ICICI Prudential.

Mumbai-headquartered White Oak Capital manages more than INR70bn (£741.5m, $952.8m, €803.2m) in assets on behalf of institutional and individual investors.

Founder Prashant Khemka said: “[Somaiyaa] has a wealth of experience in building and scaling investment management businesses.

“Under his leadership, we shall build a pioneering organisation centred around our performance-first investment culture.”
