Aviva Investors CEO departs

By Kirsten Hastings, 4 Jan 21

Succeeded by chief investments officer, real assets with immediate effect

Euan Munro has left Aviva Investors after seven years as chief executive to take up a role outside the company.

His successor has been named as Mark Versey, who was previously chief investments officer, real assets at the company.

Versey assumes the role with immediate effect and will report to group chief executive Amanda Blanc.

He has been with Aviva Investors since 2014 and was previously chief investment officer at Friends Life Group and Axa UK.

Green commitment

Thanking Munro for “his leadership of Aviva Investors over the past seven years”, Blanc added: “Mark is the leader that Aviva Investors needs to take it forward”.

She described the business as “a core part of Aviva and its investment capabilities are critical to our ambition to be the UK’s leading insurer”.

Versey also sits on the investment committee of the Investment Association and chairs its sustainability and responsible investment committee.

He added: “My overriding priority will be to provide our customers with strong and consistent investment performance to deliver the outcomes they are looking for, including meeting net zero emission targets through sustainable investments.”
