By Cristian Angeloni, 27 Apr 21

Wealth giant names chief digital and information officer, while UK firm expands international service

UBS

The Switzerland-headquartered wealth manager has made several changes to its group executive board.

Mike Dargan will be promoted to chief digital and information officer, effective from 1 May. He has been at UBS since 2016 when he took on the role of head of group technology.

Markus Diethelm will step down as group general counsel after 13 years, effective from 1 November 2021. He will remain as a senior adviser to the business and be responsible for select legacy litigation cases.

Barbara Levi will succeed Diethelm. She joins from Rio Tinto Group, where she served as chief legal officer and external affairs since January 2020.

Tilney Smith & Williamson (TSW)

The UK wealth manager has expanded its international services proposition through the hire of Majid Hussain as partner within the private client tax team.

He was previously at BDO, where he worked as a director of the tax team for four years.

Blackfinch

The investment firm has recruited Paul Lanigan as distribution strategy director.

He will be responsible for developing the company’s presence in the capital markets arena to include DFM’s pension funds, family offices, banks, and institutional investments.

Lanigan joins from Standard Life, where he spent the last 22 years, most recently as head of distribution.

IWP’s Welsh regional IFA hub has hired Gareth Tregidon as head of financial planning.

He was previously at Stafford House Investments, where he served as a financial planner for six years.

RBS International

Bradley Davidson has been promoted to ESG manager.

In the newly created role, he will lead the bank’s ESG strategy team, based in London.

He joined the company in 2017 as a corporate and markets graduate and was then promoted to money market sales analyst in 2020.

Fulcrum Asset Management

The asset manager has promoted Stephen Crewe and Fawaz Chaudhry to partner.

Crewe joined in 2013 and is the lead portfolio manager for the Fulcrum Income fund and Fulcrum Equity Dispersion fund.

Chaudhry started working at the firm in 2017 as head of equities and is the lead portfolio manager for the Fulcrum Thematic Equity Market Neutral fund and Fulcrum Climate Change fund.

Ocorian

They all join as business development directors.

Andrew Stewart was executive director at MUFG Investor Services; Chris Mayfield joins from Vistra; Vivienne Fitzpatrick held several senior positions at JP Morgan; Natasha Head was previously at Maitland; and William Turmann was vice president at Société Générale Luxembourg.
