The wealth and asset management group hired Stuart Bates as chief executive of its UK wealth management branch.
He was previously chief operating officer at Jar Capital for nearly four years.
C Hoare & Co
The UK-based private bank recruited Emily Corbett as a senior relationship manager to lead the firm’s growth in the south west of England.
She will be responsible for growing its presence and developing business opportunities across the region.
Corbett joins from Handelsbanken in Bath where she was an individual banking manager.
Jupiter
Asset management firm Jupiter has made several promotions:
- Sohil Chotai will become a fund manager covering European equities. He joined the company’s European equities strategy team in 2019;
- David Cameron-Mowat has been promoted to fund manager for UK small and mid-cap equities. He started working for Jupiter following the acquisition of Merian Global Investors in 2020, where he was a member of the UK SMID team for over six years;
- Hilary Blandy will take on the role of fund manager of the Jupiter Monthly Income Bind fund, which she started co-managing in September 2020. She has been at the firm since 2012 and has held several positions;
- Reza Karim will become fund manager for emerging market debt. He started working at Jupiter in 2017 focusing on the firm’s emerging market offering.
Pacific Asset Management
Dani Saurymper will become a fund manager at Pacific AM, effective from July 2021.
He is currently a portfolio manager at Axa Investment Managers for the Axa Framlington Longevity Economy Fund and research lead for Health/Ageing and Lifestyle at Axa IM Framlington Equities.
Axa Investment Managers
Axa IM has expanded its responsible investment team.
Oliver Eugène has been promoted to head of climate, focusing on the firm’s transition to net zero; while Liudmila Strakodonskaya has been recruited as an ESG analyst.
Eugène was previously co-portfolio manager of the Axa WF Framlington Sustainable Europe fund, while Strakodonskaya joins from Eleva Capital where she worked as an ESG/SRI specialist since 2019.

The law firm recruited Winston Penhall as a partner, specialising on investment funds.
He was previously at Reed Smith where he co-led the London investment funds practice.
Insolvency Service
Mark Austen will become chair of the UK’s Insolvency Service.
He currently holds a similar role at Alpha Bank London and at Transform Housing & Support.
