PEOPLE MOVES: Edmond de Rothschild, Close Brothers AM, CGWM

Private bank names chief executive, while wealth firm hires managing director for London office

Edmond de Rothschild Group

François Pauly will become the private bank’s chief executive.

He served on the board of Edmond de Rothschild (Suisse) and its Luxembourg subsidiary before taking the top job.

Pauly will succeed Vincent Taupin, who is going to retire.

Close Brothers Asset Management

The financial planning firm has hired Rob Crawshaw as a managing director in its Mayfair office.

He will join the firm in the autumn of 2021.

Crawshaw is currently at Rathbones, where he manages a range of portfolios on behalf of private clients and charities. He has been at the company since 2013.

Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management (CGWM)

The UK and Europe wealth management operation has recruited Daragh O’Sullivan as business development director for its international sales team.

He joins from Gam Investments, where he was a client director for over four years.

O’Sullivan will be responsible for expanding the reach of CGWM’s intermediary product range across Europe and supporting IFAs.

Epworth Investment Management

Roz Amos will take on the role of chief investment strategist at the UK-based firm.

She used to work at UBS Asset Management, chairing its product strategy board.

AHR Private Clients

The financial advisory firm has named Adrian Rees as operations director.

He will oversee the development and delivery of AHR’s client solutions.

Rees was previously head of training and development at Mercer UK.

Zurich

Sam Wells has re-joined Zurich UK as he takes on the role of head of proposition innovation.

He left the insurer in 2019 to work at global underwriting agency Further, where he was UK sales and business development director.

State Street

The financial services provider has promoted two people to regional heads.

Pauline Wong becomes head of Hong Kong and Ilona Chen will lead the Taiwan business, based in Hong Kong and Taipei, respectively.

Wong joined State Street in 2011 and was most recently Asia Pacific lead for the firm’s client programme office.

Chen first started working at the company in 1993 and helped setting up the business in Taipei in 1995. Most recently, she was head of institutional sales for greater China.

Vermeer Partners

The London-based fund management firm has recruited Arabella Henman as business development director.

She was previously at Capital Generation Partners, where she worked as client director.

At Vermeer, Henman will be responsible for the company’s relationships with intermediaries.

Lombard Odier Investment Managers

The investment management firm has expanded its global equities arm with two senior portfolio managers.

June Chua will focus on Asian and emerging markets equities. She joins from Harvest Global where she served as head of Asian equities. She will be based in Hong Kong.

Armaud d’Aligny will be part of the European equities team. He was previously a partner and lead portfolio manager for sustainability-focused strategies at Sycomore Asset Management. He will be based in Geneva.
