Investec creates UK wealth advisory arm

By Robbie Lawther, 10 Jun 21

After announcing ambition to make M&A deals in the market

Investec Wealth & Investment (IW&I) has combined its financial planning division with its recently formed wealth planning service to create an advice arm.

The firm has promoted Michelle Holgate and Sarfraz Hafeji to co-heads of the wealth advisory business.

Holgate and Hafeji were previously senior financial planning directors at IW&I, and will take on their new roles immediately.

Barbara-Ann King, Investec Wealth chief commercial officer, said: “We’re proud to be announcing two internal candidates to take up these important roles, showcasing the wealth of skilled, diverse people we have within our teams.

“Offering holistic advice is key to our strategy. Michelle and Sarfraz have our full support as they build out our wealth advisory offering and help us to provide genuinely differentiated products and services to empower our clients to meet their wealth ambitions.”

This news comes weeks after Investec Group said it wants to make acquisitions in the UK wealth management industry.
