PEOPLE MOVES: HSBC, Candriam, Intelliflo

Private bank names Emea head of Asia coverage, while asset manager hires head of UK distribution

HSBC Private Banking

Victor Wang has been promoted to Emea head of Asia coverage and connectivity.

He will work with global teams to support Asian clients with wealth management needs in Emea as well as clients in the region with needs in Asia.

Wang has been at HSBC for 19 years, and most recently headed the China desk for UK, continental and international Europe.

Candriam

The global multi-asset manager has hired David Morley as head of UK distribution, based in London.

He will be responsible for developing the distribution business across institutional, wholesale and retail markets.

He joins from Easton Vance Investment Managers, where he spent the last six years as country head for the UK.

Intelliflo

The financial advice technology provider has expanded its leadership team with the introduction of its first chief product officer, Blake Kannady, and first head of Australia, Geoff Rogers.

Kannady was previously at Envestnet, where he led product design, development and strategy for the firm’s platform.

Rogers was most recently group executive of advice for MLC.

Pictet

The wealth firm has promoted two to managing partners, effective from 1 September 2021.

Elif Aktuğ has been at the company since 2011 as the lead fund manager of Pictet Asset Manager’s Agora, a European equity strategy.

François Pictet joined the firm in 2015 as part of the Pictet Investment Office where he managed the private equity portfolio and the department in Geneva.

Prosperity

The UAE-based financial planning firm has made two hires.

George Rahhal has taken on the role of senior financial planner, while Mark Crimmins as client relationship manager.

Rahhal was previously a senior investment adviser at Brite Advisors. Crimmins joins from Mondial in Dubai where he most recently worked as a financial consultant.

Axa Investment Managers

Marion Le Morhedec has become global head of fixed income at the firm, effective immediately.

She will be based in Paris and will be supported by Christophe Herpet, who will take on the role of deputy head of fixed income and global head of fixed income for Axa.

They will both retain their current portfolio management responsibilities.

Le Morhedec was previously head of active fixed income for Europe and Asia since 2019, and has been at the firm since 2003.

Herpet joined the fixed income teams in 2010 and was most recently global head of Axa fixed income and buy & maintain since 2019.

Value Partners

Edwin Kam has been promoted to deputy chief investment officer for fixed income investments at the Hong Kong-based independent asset manager.

He has been at the firm since 2014 as an investment director.

Crestbridge

The private equity and real estate administration solutions provider has hired Ross Thomson as director and head of funds services for Luxembourg.

He will be responsible for overseeing the full range of fund administration services as well as help the business grow.

Thomson joins from Carne Global Fund Managers Luxembourg, where he served as chief operating officer.

Dynamic Planner

Steph Wilcox has become head of actuarial implementation at the financial planning system provider.

She joins from EValue, where she worked as lead actuary.

Bedell Cristin

The Jersey-based law firm has recruited Joanne Verbiesen as a partner in its Singapore office.

She used to work at HSBC in Hong Kong where she was a senior legal counsel in the trust and fiduciary services business.
