M&A

Captrust Financial Advisors

The advice firm has acquired South Carolina-based Reynolds Investment Management (RIM) for an undisclosed sum.

Established in 1989, RIM provides wealth management services to individuals and families, business owners, medical professionals, and retirees. The RIM team also offers investment advisory services to retirement plan sponsors, endowments, and foundations.

The firm is led by Tom Reynolds. A total of eight colleagues will be joining Captrust.

This is the 58th deal for the advice firm since 2006.

The Mather Group

The wealth management firm has acquired California-based registered investment adviser (RIA) firm HC Financial Advisors for an undisclosed sum.

HC’s three principals—Stephen Biggs, Andy Byron, and Karla McAvoy—and the entire team joined TMG as part of the transition.

This is TMG’s third acquisition in August.

MAI Capital Management

The RIA firm has bought Cleveland-based Pareto Wealth Management for an undisclosed sum.

Pareto was previously a division of McDonald Partners Wealth Advisory Group in Cleveland.

The entire Pareto team will join MAI, with Kriak and Palko each assuming the role of managing director at MAI.
